Back in August 2024, Michelle was 47 years old and weighed 92kg when a weekend away became the moment everything changed. After looking through photos of herself, she felt ashamed of how she looked and realised she could no longer ignore the extra weight she was carrying.

Michelle knew she wanted to make a change, but she had struggled in the past with other weight loss shakes. She found the flavours hard to enjoy and did not experience weight loss results that helped her stay motivated.

After seeing ads for The Lady Shake, she decided to give it a try.

From the very beginning, Michelle noticed a difference. She loved the flavours and enjoyed having so many options to choose from. The regular release of new flavours also helped keep things interesting and made it easier for her to stick to the program.

Michelle quickly found a routine that worked for her lifestyle. She started having a Lady Shake for breakfast and lunch, followed by a normal dinner each night. She also included a Lady Bar for morning tea, fruit for afternoon tea and most days added a Boost Shake in the morning.

Some of Michelle’s favourite flavours are Hazelnut, Honeycomb, Chocolate, Banana, Choc Mint, Coffee and Salted Caramel. She also enjoys mixing flavours together, especially Choc Mint with Banana and Salted Caramel with Chocolate.

One of the biggest changes during Michelle’s journey was the way she started thinking about food. She realised how much junk food and takeaway she had previously been eating and slowly began making healthier choices instead. Since starting The Lady Shake, Michelle says she no longer eats takeaway food and has also learned she does not need to finish everything on her plate. She now naturally looks for healthier alternatives when shopping and cooking.

Rather than focusing on losing 28kg from the beginning, Michelle approached her journey by setting small goals. Her first goal was to lose 5kg, and once she achieved that, she simply set the next one. By focusing on smaller milestones, the bigger result never felt overwhelming or impossible.

Michelle also credits preparation as one of the biggest keys to her success. Planning meals and snacks ahead of time helped her avoid impulse buying junk food and made it easier to stay consistent with her routine. She also enjoyed trying recipes from The Lady Shake website, especially the protein balls and banana pancakes, which became favourite go-to options when she wanted something different.

Michelle began the journey on her own, but after a few months her partner saw her results and decided to join her. He has now lost 25kg in 12 months himself.

She also found support through The Lady Shake Facebook page, which became an encouraging part of her journey. Now 28kg down, Michelle says the changes in her life go far beyond the number on the scale. She sleeps better, has more energy and can comfortably enjoy activities that once felt difficult, including walking, riding her bicycle and dancing with friends.

The boost in her confidence and self-esteem has also been life-changing.

One of the most memorable parts of her journey is running into people she has not seen in a while and seeing their reaction to her transformation. Michelle says the positive impact it has had on her mental well-being has been incredible. Most importantly, she says she can now enjoy life without feeling ashamed.

Maintaining her weight has become part of her lifestyle and something that now feels easy to continue long term.

Michelle’s advice for anyone thinking about starting their own journey is to simply give it a go for a month, make small changes and drink plenty of water. And if she could speak to herself on day one, her message would be simple: “Just do it, the results are truly amazing and will change your life.”

Michelle’s journey is proof that lasting change does not have to come from chasing perfection. For her, it came from consistency, preparation and taking one small step at a time.
