AFTER

Almost 12 months after making one of the hardest decisions of her life, Monique is stronger, lighter, healthier, and prouder than ever.
At 49, Monique was faced with a reality many Aussie women know all too well. A routine visit to her doctor resulted in a Type 2 Diabetes diagnosis, directly linked to her weight. At the time, she weighed 132.5 kilos and was managing depression and chronic knee pain.
“I walked out of that appointment and promised myself I would make a change,” Monique says.
That promise sparked a complete lifestyle shift, not just in what she ate, but in how she thought about food. Monique introduced The Lady Shakes into her routine, paired them with healthier meals and regular exercise, and focused on consistency rather than quick fixes.
55kg down, Life-Changing Results
Fast forward almost a year, and Monique has lost a total of 55 kilos. She’s gone from 132.5kg to 77.5kg, maintaining her weight while already setting new goals for 2026, aiming to lose the final 8–10 kilos.

But for Monique, the biggest change isn’t the number on the scales.
“Understanding that this is a lifestyle change and completely changing how I look at food was the most important part,” she explains.
“I used to reward myself with food. As a kid, it was chips and soft drink. As an adult, it became fast food. I had to reprogram my mindset and realise that wasn’t actually looking after my body or my mind.”
Small, Everyday Changes Make the Difference
Monique’s transformation has come from small, consistent choices. She enjoys The Lady Shake twice a day, keeps her meals simple with lean proteins and vegetables, and fits exercise around her early mornings as a baker.
“I buy the variety pack each week and, in the mornings, I add a shot of coffee and a thick brick of ice to my shake. It’s become my energising breakfast, and it keeps me on track.”
These daily changes have improved more than just her body. Monique has more energy than ever, no longer needs daytime naps, and has the mental clarity to enjoy her life fully.
Family, Community, and Support
Support has been key to Monique’s success. Her husband joins her on walks, her family cheers her on every day, and the Lady Shake community provides ongoing encouragement.
“The Lady Shake has helped me set goals and achieve a new outlook on life. I’m so grateful to them and to the community of women who support each other,” she shares.

Monique has also been experimenting with healthy, diabetic-friendly meals. She’s been documenting her recipes and sharing them with others, hoping to inspire women who are facing similar challenges.
Looking Ahead – Goals for 2026
While Monique’s journey has already been life-changing, she’s not done yet. She’s focused on her health, maintaining her weight, and taking things one day at a time. Her goal for 2026 is to lose the remaining 8–10 kilos and continue building the healthy habits that have transformed her life.
“I’m proud of myself for taking control of my health and preventing my diabetes from getting worse. This journey has been about so much more than weight loss, it’s about a new way of living,” Monique says.
Monique’s story shows that with consistency, support, and a mindset shift, lasting transformation is possible and it can be life-changing.
